I’m in Washington state looking to work with a clinic in Colorado, I have Regence Blue Cross/Blue Shield through my work and I got the most expensive plan so I would have really great coverage. The clinic I’m going to accepts Anthem BCBS but says that my insurance considers them out of network. When I mentioned that I have really good out of network coverage (I pay 30% after out of pocket minimum), they said their clinic refuses to even bill insurances if it’s out of network. That seems really strange to me. But I wondered if my BlueCard coverage should work between since the clinic accepts Anthem BCBS? Additionally, has anyone ever heard of a clinic refusing to bill if they’re out of network, and are there any work-arounds for this? I’d hate to be paying as much as I do to have good coverage, even out of network, just to not be able to use it. Thanks in advance for any experiences, thoughts, or advice!
